This is Mo, a freelance photographer from Sydney, Australia. I was born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh. I moved to Sydney in 2004 and here is how I got into photography...
Wife bought me the camera as an anniversary gift in 2011. However back then I was very busy with CPA (yes I’m an accountant by day!) so didn’t get a chance to focus on photography. I did use the camera every now and then but didn’t like any of my shots. I didn’t know why my shots were not amazing like others but I knew that something needed to improve.
That something was my knowledge about photography! About 2 years ago I finally managed to find some time to learn photography. Initially it was a bit confusing to learn about aperture, shutter speed, ISO etc but thanks to Google and YouTube for awesome resources and special thanks to the awesome photographers for putting contents out there. I was blown away by my first long exposure shot and was very surprised to see what a camera is capable of producing. I could see endless capabilities of a camera which normal eyes could not see and I loved it.
I love photography for 2 reasons:
1. It taught me how to see! I know it sounds weird but photography actually taught me how to find beauty in everything. You can make almost anything look interesting with a good mix of perspective, light, composition and camera settings.
2. It freezes the moment, a moment that will never return to our life. My goal is to capture those special moments in a way which enables you to relive those moments over and over again. I aim to capture images that make you feel like you were there even though you were not. I don’t want you to just see my photos; I want you to feel what I felt. I know it’s hard and that’s why I challenged myself to convey the feelings through my images.
